Herb butter is easy to make and is a delicious way to jazz up your meals. Add it to meat, fish, vegetables, bread, pasta, risotto and more!
125g unsalted butter (or just over half a cup)
1-2 tablespoons of chives (or your chosen herb/s)
Pinch of salt
Dash of lemon juice
1 garlic clove (optional)
You will also need some baking paper
Make sure your butter is room temperature then place it in a bowl.
Finally chop your herbs, then add them to the butter.
Add a squeeze of lemon, optional garlic (minced) and salt to taste, then mix well.
Place your butter mixture on a piece of baking paper, roll into a cylinder and seal by twisting the ends.
Place in the fridge to firm up.
Your herb butter will keep in the fridge for for up to two weeks, or in the freezer for up to two months.
To use, simply slice off a piece with a knife as you need it.
